Hello Eve,

After careful consideration on the part of Mr. Jones and myself, we have decided to keep you on board in your current position, with pay.

However, it has been agreed that you will report to a liason at the end of each day in order to confirm that you are completing work to the standard we expect, and help prevent incidents like this from happening again.

We have appointed Markus Cort to this position. He will pass all relevant information onto myself.

This review will continue indefinitely, and only cease once we reach a point where we are satisfied with your quality of work.

Michael, with all due respect, I would like to speak to Wesley directly.

I feel as though if I had the opportunity to explain the circumstances from my perspective, he would better understand how what occurred was unavoidable.

There is a great deal left to resolve, and my investigation is providing some promising leads on who is truly responsible.

Eve, we are not acting out of speculation. We reviewed your ongoing investigation. We watched the tapes, and we read her texts, and we have seen your deep dives. We understand your conclusions, and how you came to them.

Then, we determined you were wrong. You could have prevented this, and you failed. You will not scapegoat any of your staff; this is your burden to bear, and yours alone.

It will be a very long time before you speak to Mr. Jones again. Which, incidentally, is how you should be referring to him.
